Who is Matt Thomas Photography?

I am a freelance fitness, commercial and 360 virtual tours photographer based out of Gloucester. Photography has always been a passion of mine ever since picking up my first camera, a Nikon FM2n back when I was studying photography at college. Since college my interest and creative ideas have grown and developed massively. From shooting film on 35mm and medium format cameras, to learning how to sculpt light. A lot has changed within photography since I started however my passion has never left!

When I first started shooting photos, I used to go out most weekends with a camera in my hand and skateboard under foot, to capture photos of my friends skateboarding. Now however, I have adapted my lighting knowledge and photographic skills into different areas, including fitnesscommercial and 360 virtual tours photography. When I get a chance I still like to shoot the occasional skateboarding photo to remind myself how I first start this photographic journey.

My love for travel photography started after working as a photographer on board P&O Cruise ships. Visiting various different ports and cities around the world. Making sure I always had my camera by my side when I was out and about, ready to snap the undiscovered places I visited. Since leaving cruise ships and that life, that travel buzz is there and I’m always looking for that next travel adventure.

Please feel free to browse the site, read my latest blog posts and visit my online portfolio, which contain examples of my work. You can keep up to date with what I am up to on Facebook or Instagram.

If you’d like to work with myself then please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!

First Look: Elinchrom ELB 1200

During July 2017, I was lucky enough to receive one of the first Elinchrom ELB 1200’s units to test. I was approached by the team at The Flash Centre to try out the new flash over a weekend of shoots. Action sports, fitness and even a video interview.

To find out about the ELB 1200 and how it performed, watch the video or visit the main article here. To view more videos like this check out the Matt Thomas Photography channel on YouTube.
